She is the all-time hits leader, with 1,090 hits in ten seasons of play, and she struck out only 81 times in 3,736 plate appearances. The seven-time All-Star was called “the fanciest fielding first baseman I’ve ever seen, male or female,” by NY Yankee first baseman Wally Pipp.
