This image features the great Jackie Robinson, who said, “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” Robinson had perhaps more off-the-field impact on society than any other player – so much that it sometimes overshadows his greatness as a player: a .311 lifetime batting average, including six consecutive seasons above .300, six All-Star games, six NL pennants and one World Series championship, all for a man who wasn’t allowed to be a major league rookie until he was 28 years old.
