Thisimage features Roberto Clemente, who finished his 18-year career with exactly 3,000 hits, all for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The NL MVP in 1966 and a 12-time Gold Glove winner, he captured four batting titles and hit safely in all 14 World Series games in which he played. The first Puerto Rican elected to the Hall of Fame, he died tragically at age 38 in a plane crash while taking supplies to earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
